“My beloved spoke, and said to me: ‘Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away. For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over [and] gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines [with] the tender grapes give a [good] smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!’” (Song 2:10-13 NKJV)
Do you hear our Beloved Lord calling, “Rise up and come away?” He calls to us as He calls Spring forth from the earth. Would He have us hibernating, or sleeping while He resurrects nature all around us? Can you hear Him declare, “I am risen. Rise in me. Come away with me. Let’s go higher. ”
It is Spring.
It is time to arise.
It is time to break forth.
It is time to come out of the darkness.
It is time to appear.
It is time to grow.
It is time to proceed.
It is time to thrive.
It is time to leap; to bound; to jump.
It is time to start; to burst; to shoot forth; to explode.
It is time to arise and go away with our Beloved.
The earth has heard our Beloved.
They have answered His call.
Can you hear the joy He brings?
Can you hear the life He sings?
I hear the choir of a 100-songbirds rising:
Rocking Robins, Bubbling Brown Thrashers,
Cheerful, Chirpy Finches, and Sharp-Cheepy Sparrows.
I even hear one feathered friend,
favored and ever-present Little Mockingbird,
spring forth and perform a grand solo.
Love is in the air.
I see the brilliant red cardinals turning, twisting
And dancing their dances.
and the bluest bluebirds fluttering and waving their wings.
The mockingbirds face off with their heads held high
darting and retreating in their coy little performance.
The glistening green grass has risen and been pruned.
The slender sheathing blades have risen again
with every droplet of rain to even taller heights.
The happy, golden daffodil clusters
have broken out of the dark.
They sang their praises and announced
with the solitary bell tone of the tulips
that spring has sprung, and new life has begun.
The multitude of gray winter is afar.
The growing, glowing emerald is everywhere.
It is all encompassing and covering with comfort.
New life surrounds and energy abounds.
It is spring.
I enCOURAGE you to stop and look around. Hear the voice of our Beloved Father calling to you,“Rise up and come away.” Enjoy ever scent of His creation. Delight in His presence . Grasp His hand and take the next steps of your journey out of the darkness of winter and into the joy of spring. He waits on you. I hope you will answer His call.
