Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
It’s been a while since I published anything online. This year has been full. I had two knee replacements within about three months. A month to the day after my last surgery, we looked at a house and one month later to the day we closed on the new. house.
I might have paused writing, but I never stopped praying. In fact, I couldn’t have made it THROUGH this year without prayer, trust and confidence in the Lord that He is who He says He. is and will do what He says He will do. (I will share with y’all later how one simple prayer changed my life. COMING SOON.)
Now for a more recent moment.
I was packing for a trip and needed a bathing suit. I found the top of my swim dress, but my bottoms were missing. They should’ve been hanging with the top. I checked all the obvious places, but they were not to be found.
Later in the day, they were the only thing missing from my suitcase. I stopped, prayed and asked a friend to agree with me in prayer that I would find them.
Yes! God’s word tells us to pray about everything. I prayed about my bottoms. He knew where they were and I did not.
After praying, I begin looking for them again. I looked in a basket of towels that had not been put away. Nope, they were not there. Holy Spirit led me to my sock basket. You know, the one where all the “orphan” socks land after the laundry mysteriously eats its match. I have a whole basket of orphans. I suppose they were lonely and invited the bathing suit bottoms for a visit because that’s exactly where I found them.
There was no reason for them to be in that basket, and if Holy Spirit had not led me, they would’ve been lost until I went to visit the orphans again.
Yes, I prayed about my bathing suit bottoms. It was my favorite suit and I did not want to leave them behind. It may seem small, but it mattered to me.
And it reminded me of something big.
PRAY about EVERYTHING!
The little things. The big things. Even the things that feel impossible. God tells us nothing is impossible with Him, and He invites us to ask for His help because He answers.
If it’s a little, pray about it!
If it’s GARGANTUAN, pray about it…
I’ll be honest, I forget to pray about everything. This was a gentle reminder: prayer changes things! Pray! GOD wants to act on our behalf. We just have to invite him in and ask.
I encourage you to stop, take a breath, and pray about everything. It will change your life…100%! (And don’t forget to be thankful as you pray and after He answers!)
