FINDING BALANCE

A just weight and balance [are] the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag [are] his work. -Proverbs 16:11

I was searching for the balanace.  I felt like the scales of my life were teetering.  I did not like the feeling of unsteadiness.   I was looking to stabilize time spent between God and Kris. I was looking to equalize time spent working, writing, cooking, cleaning, projects around the house and just playing.  I was searching for balance in my eating habits.  Ultimately, I was trying to reconcile time between DOING and time just BEING.

What was missing?  Focus.  I was so occupied with everything I had to do that I was not doing my best at anything.  I took time to refocus.  I took time to find center again. I stopped.   I turned off everything, including my racing mind.  I ran to center.  I ran to God. I read. I sang. I prayed. I found peace.  I found balance. I found God waiting on me to straighten it all out.

Proverbs 16:11 tells us that “a just weight and balance [are] the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag [are] his work.”   Where is balance?  It is the LORD’S.  He is our Balance.  Jesus balanced all on the cross.  The weights or stones in the bag of life are His work.  We have to run to Him.  We have to ask him to help us work it out.  We need to ask Him, “what’s next?”  He will instruct us and teach us the way to go, what do, when to do, how to do and when to stop.  He has the answers. We just have to ask and seek Him.

I enCOURAGE you to take time and refocus. Ask our LORD to help you find balance. Seek the LORD for balance.  It is His.  If you seek Him, you will find Him, balance and everything else you need.

  1. So true. Seems simple, and it is. Yet, we have to overcome our mind spinning out of control, and stay focused on the simplicity of God. His creation is beyond mankind’s ability to fully comprehend, but He says to come unto Him as a little child and He will give us rest. We just have to get our minds out of God’s way. Your words are laser focused on truth of the Word. I love your candor and the refreshing it brings to the reader. 🧡 Mom
