Jesus Christ himself being the Chief Cornerstone; -Ephesians 2:20
CORNER-STONE, (noun) The stone which lies at the corner of two walls, and unites them; the principal stone, and especially the stone which forms the corner of the foundation of an edifice. (Webster’s 1828 Dictionary)
The cornerstone, also called foundation or setting stone, is the first stone set in a building. The cornerstone marks the geographical location by orienting a building in a specific direction. Careful measurements are taken to ensure the cornerstone is square to guarantee the proper alignment of the rest of the building. All other stones are laid in line with the cornerstone. The completeness and stability of the structure depends on the Cornerstone. Collins dictionary defines the cornerstone of something as the basic part of it on which its existence, success, or truth depends. Many times name of the architect is engraved into the cornerstone. Our LORD is the Architect of the universe (Hebrews 11:3). Hence, our Cornerstone is labeled: KING OF KING and LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)
Jesus is our Cornerstone.
Jesus is our Foundation Stone.
Jesus is our Beginning.
Jesus is our Standard of measure.
Jesus is our Orientation.
Jesus is our Specific Direction.
Jesus is our Proper Alignment.
Jesus is our Completeness.
Jesus is our Stability.
Jesus is our Existence.
Jesus is our Truth.
Jesus is our King of Kings.
Jesus is our Lord of Lords.
Jesus is our Cornerstone. He is the foundation of the church. We are of the household of God. (Ephesians 2:19). “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone… (Ephesians 2:20)
We are his temple. We are an intricate and important part of the building of the church, the body of Christ. We have a unique place and space we are to occupy. Our Father is working on us from the inside out to sculpt us, mold us and shapes us into what we are called to be. He whittles away at our imperfections to create a perfect stone, created in His image. Think about this…if we are not obedient to God’s calling, we are holding up the building process of the body. WHOA! AND, If we start with Jesus, then the apostles, fast forward a few thousand years to us, we could very well be holding up the perfecting of our children and grandchildren by our disobedience and unfaithfulness. That means it is past time to get it together, to repent and turn to God in all things. We cannot change the past, but we can change the future by being obedient to the call and commands of our Father, Architect of the Universe, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I enCOURAGE you to rely on Jesus, your Cornerstone. He will orient, direct, align, stabilize and complete you. Allow God into all the parts of your life that need a little renovation and renewal. Affect the future generations of your family and the world with your obedience.
Absolute truth! 🧡
