“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations” (Mt. 24:14).
I do not know about you and your family, when Kris or I receive good news in any form, we race to share it. I cannot imagine what Matthew was thinking when he scribed the above words of Jesus. I know that he felt the same urge to share. I mean, come on. He was a disciple, and he did write the whole book of Matthew. Think about the assignment of the disciples to go and preach. Their mode of transportation was by foot or maybe donkey. I don’t even think they had a herd of horses to take them all over the “world.” The only way they had to share the word was by mouth or to write it on parchment. They did not have a plethora of paper at their disposal, nor smooth writing, easily attainable, pens and pencils.
The task to preach the gospel must have seem daunting and virtually impossible. However, they had been in the presence of Jesus and had received the living water. It was oozing from them, and they had to share no matter the cost. Jesus commissioned them to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15 NKJV). “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NKJV)
They were obedient to the word and changed the world. We have the same commission to go. That formidable assignment was overwhelming to me until I talked to the Lord about it. He simplified the task and revealed to me how to start small by going to my circle of influence, my world, family, friends, community and city. When I was faithful in the small, He bumped up my assignment. He asked me to write for Him and through technology, reach the whole world. I am small potatoes in the blog world, but to God be all the glory and through God, to date, “Complete in Him” has reached over 25,000 people in 67 countries.
Think about how much easier it is for us to hear and share the word of God than it was for the disciples. Let’s take technology and media for example. We have television, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, online books and Bibles. We have the world wide web, the internet, podcasts, blogs, microblogs, social networking, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tick Tok. At our fingertips, we have portable phones, devices and computers, where we can easily email, text, or direct message anyone at any time with a few keystrokes. At the click of a button, I can share this blog and it will travel across the world wide web and cover the world in literally seconds.
Sure, Satan influences the media, like everything else, to spread his message like a virus.
BUT GOD!
HE IS THE GREATEST INFLUENCER! Satan has nothing on Him. The Lord uses technology and media to preach the good news to the ends of the earth. Like Genesis 50:20, Satan meant it for evil; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people.
I enCOURAGE you to be bold and courageous. USE the media to further the spread of the gospel. Share the good news of Jesus. Use technology. Use media. Give a book. Send a text. Share a meme. I have a dear friend who usually shares one encouraging meme a day. I have heard the Lord speak through him many times. His shares light up my day or path, for example:
“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”– Dale Carnegie
“Three simple rules in life:
- If you do not go after what you want, you’ll never have it.
- If you do not ask, the answer will always be no.
- If you do not step forward, you will always be in the same place.” -The Open Mind
“Success is the sum of small efforts-repeated day in and day out.” -Robert Collier
“Fear is a reaction. Courage is a decision.” -Good Night Wishes and Quotes
You never know how one small share could change someone’s day or life. It’s simple. Go, change the world. Share the Light!
❤❤❤ Very good!
