“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors, and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV)
God uses a village to raise a Christian from the point of being born again to completion in Him. The Lord uses apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to help us along on the journey to completion in Him. In Ephesians 4, He tells us that He uses His laundry list of supporting characters to perfect us, which means to make, mend, fit, frame, restore, to perfectly join us together and to complete. He uses the same group to proclaim, promote, attend, and build up the body of Christ. The Lord is our Shepherd; He leads us many ways. He uses prophets, pastors, and prayers to guide us.

June 3- July 1, 2021: GOD USES THE PROPHET
Holy Spirit used and continues to use Lana Vawser’s prophetic words to speak life to me and love me back to Him. (https://lanavawser.com) Following are titles of words she has received, released, and spoken into my life over the last month.
June 3, 2021: I HEARD THE LORD SAY “MANY DAUGHTERS OF GOD, THE ENEMY MAY HAVE THOUGHT HE COULD TOUCH AND STEAL YOUR VOICE, BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, I AM NOW AMPLIFYING MY VOICE THROUGH YOU”
June 13, 2021: I HEARD THE LORD SAY, “I AM MAKING SOME CHANGES AND ADJUSTMENTS.” Highlight for post: Pay attention. Do not be distracted. Shift into new alignments (Resolutely Align is my word for 2021). Radical and quick obedience. Moving with Jesus in obedience to these changes He is making, will cost, there is a cost to obedience, BUT the glory on the other side of your obedience will far outweigh the discomfort or wrestle in the obedience!
June 14, 2021: I HEARD THE LORD SAY “YOUR OBEDIENCE TO MY WAY IS CATAPULTING YOU INTO YOUR GREATEST DAY”
June 20, 2021: I HEARD THE LORD SAY “A WEEK OF UNTANGLING FOR MANY”
June 25, 2021: I HEARD THE LORD SAY, “DON’T SEE THE COCOON AS THE END, IT’S JUST THE BEGINNING… MANY ARE ABOUT TO FLY WITH THE EYES OF ELISHA!”
Highlights of post: …A week of being delivered from things that have kept you bound, continually trying to trip you up and suffocate. Untangled from “old things” and “old alignments”. Freedom to run into the new alignments without hindrance. Cocoon felt like a place where they were dying, and not flourishing. The “dying process” taking place in this season a place of deeper yielding to the Lord. It’s a season where God is calling His people to “BE CONSECRATED to HIM” in a whole new way. GIANTS and strongholds are dying. The “dying process” is actually the PATHWAY to life and the indicator that you are about to FLY.
June 28, 2021: I ask the Lord for help and surrendered my weight loss journey to Him. The Lord continued to speak through Lana, I HEARD THE LORD SAY “EXPAND, FOCUS, HONE”
Highlights: Fight against distraction and find the YES and alignments of the Lord. Be ferociously focused on what God is speaking and what He has promised. Expand, “make room,” “declutter,” “get things in order.” I have been hearing the Lord say the same and have been decluttering, literally and physically. I heard it again the week of June 25th and shared with my friend, Kristi. I hear you Lord.
June 30, 2021: GOD USES THE PRAYER
The Lord tells us to pray without ceasing and not lose heart. His word says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all he has done!” (Philippians 4:6 NLT). The Lord also says, “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.” (Psalm 91:15 NKJV)
On June 28th, ‘begin again day,’ I asked the Lord for help; He answered me. On the 30th, I discussed with my Cover Tennessee prayer zoom group what I had asked of the Lord. As I told you in a previous post, He used my sister Alli to speak His word straight to my heart. Holy Spirit gave her the words to speak and the “rubber band” illustration, as an example of struggle and resistance. Holy Spirit allowed me to SEE breakthrough in the spirit for I was asking of the Lord. I saw the catapult, flying, freedom and expanse when the rubber band broke. Gina, also on the prayer team, had lost zoom connection. She came into prayer AFTER Alli’s words of encouragement and Holy Spirit gave her the same image concerning the rubber band.
July 1, 2021: RE-ENTER THE PROPHET
I cannot make this up! Lana Vawser, lives on the other side of the world in Australia. She is my Holy Spirit sister. It is like we talk on the phone daily, but yet have never spoken. She posted this after prayer group and three days after my restart… I HEARD THE LORD SAY, “YOUR DEPTH OF SURRENDER TO ME IS POSITIONING YOU TO STAND IN NEW PLACES.”
On the week of my surrender, the Lord inspired the prophet and encourager to speak to me of surrender? Surrender to the ways of the Lord and the “PROCESS.” (I had been doing one thing and I had already prayed for the Lord to lead me in a new way, a new process… whatever way. I was open and listening.)
Other highlights from the surrender word: There was ‘pain’ in letting go, but their hearts to worship Him and follow His way, far outweighed the pain of ‘letting go.’ You had to let go and die to some things, to come into the expanse of the life of the new birthing’s upon your life.
THEN…
July 4, 2021: GOD USES THE PASTOR
Pastor Mark Benton pulled a rubber band out to illustrate his great sermon. I am telling you that I cannot make this up… BUT, and ONLY, GOD!!! (Sermon link: The Book of Acts: What’s Your Foundation)
He put the rubber band on the thumb of one hand. It represented the voice of others; husband, mom, dad, kids, family, political correctness, political affiliation, race, work, food, addictions… He put the rubber band on the other hand. It depicted you and me.
He explained that God gets hold of our lives and starts shaping, molding, and stretching us. The Lord says, “Come over here” and immediately, resistance comes. God keeps asking us to stretch. At some point in the stretch, breakthrough from the voices of other people and other things, come. The breaking and the stretching are really hard. It hurts. It is painful to break free, but when we do, we fly. The voice of God is enough, trust it. Jesus did not die on the cross for us to live the rest of our life in discontent. Will you reflect Him, reject Him, or follow Him?
God used Pastor Mark to preach a little different sermon but, essentially say the same thing that the Lord has been telling me all week… RUBBER BAND. STRETCH. BREAKTHROUGH. FLY!
I know this was a long post. Thanks for reading to the end. I was so encouraged this week by “these,” three ways that God spoke to me through the prophet, the prayer, and the pastor. I wanted to testify to the different ways that YOU CAN hear God’s voice. I know God adores us so much that He is always talking to us. We just have to listen carefully.
I enCOURAGE you to pay attention to the prophet and the pastor speaking the word of God. Spend time, all the time, in prayer, talking to God. You will hear His life changing words when He talks with you. Enjoy! Live amazed!
“Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” (2 Chronicles 20:20)
