Why have a phone if you are not going to answer it? Why have a door if you are not going to open it? Why have a light if you are not going to turn it on? Why have a car if you are not going to drive it to your destination? Why have a computer if you don’t open and use it? Why have a Bible in your home if you are not going to read it?
The word of God is lovingly God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). It is God speaking directly to us. It is the way to find out what is on His mind and His heart. It is His will. The word of God is active and working to do what it sets out to accomplish. The word of God, inspired by our Creator and the Author of all life, will tell us everything we need to know. It will give us the answer we seek or point us in the right direction. 1000%…The word of God will speak, when opened. Slow read and think about… “what a word this is!”

- Alive
- Powerful
- Active and operative
- Sharper than any two-edged sword
- Piercing
- Thought Discerning (Hebrews 4:12)
The word of God is…
- Creative (Psalm 33:6 NKJV)
- Refined, tested, and proved (Psalms 18:30)
- Right and true (Psalm 33:4)
- Perfect and Trustworthy (Psalm 19:7)
- Fulfilling (Ezekiel 12:28)
- Accomplishing (Isaiah 55:11)
The word of God is…
- Effectually working
- Active
- Operative
- Transformative (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
- Cleansing (Psalm 119:9, John 15:3)
- Sanctifying (Ephesians 5:26)
- A sin preventative. (Psalm 119:11)
The word of God is…
- Teaching
- Rebuking
- Correcting
- Training (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Faith building (Romans 10:17 NKJV)
The word of God is…
- Wisdom (Proverbs 2:6)
- Understanding (Psalm 119:130)
- A counselor (Psalm 119:24)
- A lamp and a light (Psalm 119:105)
The word of God is…
- Healing and delivering (Psalm 107:20 NKJV)
- Strength to the heavy, melting soul (Psalm 119:28)
- Blessing to the obedient (Luke 11:28)
The word of God is…
- Life sustaining (Mathew 4:4)
- Life giving (Proverbs 3:1)
- Soul saving (James 1:2)
The word of God is…
- Truth (John 17:17)
- Enduring (Isiah 40:8)
- Forever (1 Peter 1:23)
The word of God is…
- Spirit and life (John 6:63 NKJV)
- Eternal life (John 6: 68 NKJV)
- Jesus Himself (John 1:1).
I enCOURAGE you to open your Bible. Hear the life giving words of our loving Father. Get to know His word. Get to know Him. Take the advice of Solomon in Proverbs 3:1, don’t forget God ‘s words. Do what it says because it will add longs days, long life, and peace to you. I guarantee that you will never be the same. Every day you will live amazed by His word…”WHAT A WORD THIS IS!”
