“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater [works] than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (John 14:12 NKJV)

We have a new rescue dog in the family.  Each night before bedtime, we take him out to do his business. We watch him from above on our deck overlooking the backyard.  One of our flood lights on the back of the house is out. The one that works sits directly behind where I stand and casts a really cool shadow.  It is me larger than life and almost reaches to the neighbor’s yard.

I knew there were spiritual lessons to be learned from my mega shadow,  but it took me a little while to hear.

  1. There is nothing little in God and that includes me and you.We need to see ourselves the way God sees us and others.
  • God’s grace is bigger than our sin.
  • God’s love is greater that our failure.
  • God’s light is brighter than our darkest moment.
  • God has big things for us to do through Him.
  1. There is nothing little in God and that includes our shadow.

“So that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid [them] on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.”(Act 5:15 NKJV)

The Light of the world has our back and creates a larger-than-life shadow when He shines on us.   God will use anything and anyone, including a shadow to reach the one who needs healing.  The world needed healing then and it needs healing now.  Peter walked so powerfully in the anointing of the Holy Spirit that His shadow over Peter brought the healing.  Peter who denied Jesus three times.  Yes, that same Peter.

  • God’s forgiveness is grander than our greatest transgression.
  • God’s works are marvelous. They span  from the beginning into eternity.
  • God’s thoughts of us out number the sand.
  • God has big things for us to do through Him.

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? … If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me…” (Psalm 139:7, 11 NKJV)

Peter’s shadow was  powerful enough to heal the sick.  God is the same God.  When we are willing  to step into His plan, His light, how will He use our shadow?   How much more can He use our light, the Light of the Lord beaming from inside?

I enCOURAGE you to dive deep into the greatness of God.  See yourself the way the Lord sees you.  Allow Him to use you in  bigger ways than He used Peter.  Serve Him.  Follow Him.  Love big like Him.  Remember, there is nothing little in God and that includes you and your shadow.

“For the LORD your God [is] God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.” (Deuteronomy 10:17 NKJV)

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”  (EPHESIANS 3:20 TPT)
