I have studied the book of Revelation before. Holy Spirit has been drawing me back to it recently. To be honest, I resisted, and I am not sure why. However, it is where I am at now.
Are you like me and thought the word apocalypse had a negative connotation to it? I am here to show you differently. Revelation is the Greek word apokalupsis, our word apocalypse, meaning to unveil, uncover, take off the cover, disclose.
The book of Revelation is a book of Jesus revealing who He was, is and is to come.
He first tells us:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, [the] Beginning and [the] End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8 NKJV)
He is the A to the Z! He is Everything!
I have seen young girls today comment on cute pictures on Instagram, “This is everything!” Wrong! You might not have words describe what you are seeing or feeling, but Jesus is the only thing that is everything!
The LORD God alone is…
- ineffable
- inexpressible
- Indescribable
- beyond words
- too great to be expressed or described in words
His name is four Hebrew letters that were unspeakable. We mispronounce Jehovah or Yahweh. His name is…“Who is and Who was and Who is to come.” INDESCRIBABLE!
He also reveals Himself as the Almighty!
- He who holds sway over all things
- The Ruler of all
- Omnipotent
- All powerful
- The Strongest
- The Mightiest
I think Jesus is off to a pretty good start revealing to us Who He is in the first chapter of Revelation.
He is it! If we need anything, He tells us He is everything. He is A to Z and all in between. He is name above all names, so there is nothing we can name that He is not above.
I enCOURAGE you to let the Lord completely reveal himself to you. He is EVERYTHING and He will show you if you seek Him out! He loves you and wants nothing more than to be in a trusting relationship with you. Don’t let the book of Revelation frighten you. Allow Jesus to reveal Himself to you through it, as well as the rest of the Bible. It all points to Him.
❤❤❤ Amen! Takes meditation and consideration to receive the fullness of Who He is, but He is telling just that. We need to believe Him.
