Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble. – Psalm 119:165 NKJV

To say that our world is groaning and in great turmoil is kind of an understatement.  When our world is turned upside down, the word of God directs us how to have great peace.  It is in Him.  Jesus is the Prince of Peace.  Want to get rich in peace?  Love his law. “Great peace have those who love Your law.”  In new covenant terms, love His word, obey His word, and do His word.

Rab is the Hebrew word for great.  It means exceeding, abundant, abounding in, sufficient, and enough.

Love His word and have:

  • GREAT PEACE
  • EXCEEDING PEACE
  • ABUNDANT PEACE
  • SUFFICIENT PEACE
  • ENOUGH PEACE

It is easy to say, “love His word.”  It is easy to say, “I love you.”  It is not always easy to love.  Love is an action.  The “love” mentioned in Psalm 119:165 NKJV means to desire, to breathe after, to long for, to have an appetite for, to have affection for, to delight, eagerly pursue.  God does not want us to simply say we love him.  He wants us to actively love Him and His word.  When we do choose to love Him, we have great peace.  You cannot separate God from His word.  As we love His word, we demonstrate that we love Him, as we listen and obey His commands.  Do you want to be told you are loved or shown you are loved?

And, one more great benefit is mentioned for those who love the law, “Nothing can cause us to stumble, fall, stagger, totter, waver, be weak in the knees, cause offense of the mind or incite us to go astray.   No obstacle can cause us to stumble because his word, his love, his peace instructs us and show us how to deal.  We can laugh all the way down the road of life knowing we can overcome any obstacle.

That is our God!  He weaves everything altogether to give us His very best.

I enCOURAGE you to get into His word, EVERY DAY!  Love it!   Delight in it and Him!  You will have abounding peace AND NOTHING, no not anything, will be an obstacle to you, nor cause you to fall.
