The Competitor

I misplaced my crossbody wallet for over 24 hours. I prayed and asked for help. Help came in the form of a vision. I know that sounds a little wild, but in that in-between state of sleep and wakefulness, I saw my bag Sitting on a shelf, its thin strap dangling.

I had already searched the house, the garage, two refrigerators, and the pantries—inside and out. I had looked on every shelf and nothing. I was about to give up and leave the house with just my phone when I glanced across the garage. There it was a rarely used shelf. I saw my bag.

When I told my husband  about my bag, he said, “We are all about the win.”  I replied, “A victory does not have to be a win, but a win is a double victory.”

Let that sink in!

“Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1Co 15:57 NKJV)

But God…“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Eph 3:20 NKJV)

God doesn’t just give us victory—He gives us exceedingly abundantly. That’s the double. That’s the win.

I don’t know if there was an ever a fiercer competitor than Jesus Christ himself. He was and is the Ultimate Winner

He took on a lost bag and He won.
He took on temptation and won.
He took on sickness and won.
He took on sorrow and grief and He won.
He took on the government and won.
He took on offense and won.
He took on unrighteousness and won.
He took on sin and won.
He took on the cross and won.
He took on death and won!

Who among us can say that we lived an entire lifetime, undefeated?  The only player I know that can make this claim is the Greatest of All Time, THE COMPETITOR, Jesus Christ.

I enCOURAGE your with the words of Paul, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NKJV)   Join the winning team!  Choose Jesus. He remains undefeated.

  1. Outstanding post, Tammy!! They seem to get better each time, or maybe Jesus taps on my shoulder and says, “Wake up! There’s something here I want to teach you.” So good!!!

I love you and continue to be amazed at God’s work in you! Thank you for your posts. They bless my heart, mind, soul and spirit.
