GOD IS NOT CONSTRAINED BY TIME

by Tammy Phillips
October 7, 2021

“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day [is] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3:8 NKJV)

Most do not have a concept of God time.  It is hard for me to grasp.  I know He multiplies time for me.  Sometimes, it seems like a minute is an hour  or an hour is as a minute…a week is a day, and a day is a week…a week is as a year and a year is as a week.  Think about Christmas Eve as a child growing up, I thought it lasted an eternity, but as I became an adult with children, it became a nanosecond.

The Lord is God.  He created time and space and us.  He is not constrained by time.   We are in a hurry and God is not.  “God is seldom in a hurry, but never late.” (Kristi Stephens) He just is not.  We get impatient, not the Lord.  What seems like forever and a day is just a blink to God in light of eternity.  He definitely has a timetable.  He is God and He executes divine order.  Nothing happens by accident and everything in God’s kingdom happens at the appointed time.

“To everything [there is] a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV)

God’s time is not our time. “Yet, according to God’s reckoning, it is but the day before yesterday that Christ died, and only about a week ago that Adam was expelled from Eden. A thousand years is, after all, a very brief space of time.”  -Charles Surgeon

Time is insignificant to God.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He does  not change like we do with the passing of time.  He always has been, He is, and He always will be. He is everywhere in time at the same time if He wants to be.  God is infinite.  Time is infinite.

Time is in His hands. Our lives are in His hands.

We say, “Come, Lord Jesus.”  I hear Abba say, “Wait. There is one more soul I am waiting on.”

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:8-9 KJV)

The LORD is not slack about His promise.
The Lord is not slow about His promise.
The LORD is not delayed about His promise.
The LORD is not tarrying about His promise.
The LORD is not inactive about His promise.

He is longsuffering, patiently enduring, and long tempered.  He does not lose heart when it comes to us His creation.   He IS NOT WILLING that any should perish, but that ALL should change our mind and come to Him as our Savior and Lord.

He will keep His promise.  He is coming again.  It might be in the next second, the next day, or in the next thousand years, but He is coming.  He is not slack in His promise.

I enCOURAGE you not to be bound or restrained by time.  It is in His hands.  He is our on-time God.  He has got you.  He has got the whole world in His hands. Everything will be alright.  He is a promise keeper and He will come again.

“There’s a name that can silence every fear
There’s a love that embraces
The heartache, the pain and the tears
Through my faith and my doubting
I know one thing for sure
His word is unfailing
His promise secure.”

KNOW THIS FIRST

“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him.” (Revelation 1:7 NKJV)

by Tammy Phillips
October 6, 2021

“Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,” (2 Peter 3:3 NKJV)

In the first two verses of 2 Peter 3, Peter wants us to remember the words of Jesus, the prophets, and apostles.  Then he says, “Know this first.”  He wants us to know what is going to happen before the coming of the Lord.

Scoffers will come who will ridicule, treat with derision, and scorn.  Scorners will come who will act with extreme contempt and belief in their own superiority or worth.  Deriders will come who will laugh in contempt, turn to ridicule and make-sport of the Jesus coming again. There will be triflers that act like children. They will make a laughing-stock of Jesus’ return. There will be mockers who imitate and mimic for the sake of derision.  It is going to get uglier and uglier, folks.  When people act like they are God, they laugh at our God.

The scoffers “walk according to their own lusts,” desires, cravings, and longings.  They do not “walk by faith.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)  Whatever they want, they justify by calling evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). It is a world turned upside down. They laugh in the face of righteousness.  They laugh and make fun of the word of God that says the Lord is coming quickly.  Sound familiar? There is so much contempt in the world at this time that it cannot even be quantified.

The scoffers ignorantly laugh in the face of God questioning His very promise.  They say, “Where is the promise of his coming?” (2 Peter 3:4 KJV) They think nothing has changed since the beginning of creation.  Wrong.  Look at how our world has changed since our birth. Look at the state of this world and the prophecies that have been fulfilled.  What is going on now, and since Jesus ascended to heaven, we have been told about in His word. He warned us.  Yet, the scoffers keep on laughing and believing, “Jesus is not coming back anytime soon.”

“They deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.” (2 Peter 3:5-6 NIV)

They conveniently forget God’s word.  They forget God’s word!   God said it!  He wrote in all down in the Bible.  He inspired men to write of what was, is and is to come.  He inspired me to write about Himself, what was, is, and is to come. The scoffers forget and keep on doing life in their own ways with utter disregard to His word. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7 NKJV). If derision is sown, derision will be reaped.

The word of God says, “By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.” (2 Peter 3:7 NIV)

God gives His creation chance after chance.  Nobody gives us more do-overs than God, but at some point, in time, He will say enough is enough.  Jesus will come again.

I enCOURAGE you to WATCH for Him and not be one of the scoffers that says, “I have heard this all my life.  Jesus is not coming anytime soon.”  Peter called out the scoffers and in warning us, warned them.   God’s word is true.  Know this:  He is coming and when He comes, He will come quickly.  Be prepared.  Have your spiritual suitcase packed.  You do not want to miss Him.

“He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.” (Psalm 2:4).

REMEMBER THE WORDS

by Tammy Phillips
October 5, 2021

“Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in [both of] which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder, 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior,” (2 Peter 3:1-2 NKJV)

Taking a short detour from Revelation to 2 Peter 3 in which Peter reminds us to live like a “last days” Christian.   Peter has written two letters to “stir up” the beloved, followers of Christ minds to REMIND them to REMEMBER THE WORDS.

According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, the Greek word for “stir up” is diegeirō”  which means to wake fully; arouse; arise, awake; raise; arouse the mind.  Peter is telling us again, as many other apostles have, “WAKE UP! REMEMEBER!”

What does he want the enlightened, awakened mind to remember?  The first step in living like a Christian living in the last days, REMEMBER THE WORDS!  He encourages us to remember what the Lord Jesus, the Old Testament Prophets and the New Testament Apostles said.  They spoke the inspired word of God because “all scripture [is] given by inspiration of God.” (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV) How will we remember what they said, if we don’t read, meditate, and study their words?

I enCOURAGE you to REMEMEBER THE WORDS.  Dive into the word.  Read it. Eat it. Chew it up. Digest it.  Feast on it.  File it away in the cabinets in your mind, so you can REMEMBER.  Everyone wants to know what in the world is going on right now.  Read the word.  God will show you.  God inspired men to write down history, past present and future to warn us of what would happen before Jesus’ return and how we should be living.

Do you think of the word of God like a lobster? You do not know how to eat it, so you don’t.  His word is better than any lobster you could ever eat.  I promise, if you will put the Bible in front of your eyes and feast on it.   He will open up the heavens and show you what you do not know and what you need to know.  You will be able to enjoy His feast and digest it if you just give Him a chance.  Read the word and remember the words.

SUDDEN SUDDENLY

Look at how the sunrise sky suddenly changed from 6:35-6:38 AM.
God can do this to the sky in three minutes. How suddenly He can change our lives.

by Tammy Phillips
October 4, 2021

It shall be at an instant suddenly.” (Isaiah 29:5 KJV)

I cannot run from the word suddenly.  It is a word that is playing on the turntable in my mind, over and over. If you are younger, “suddenly” is my song that repeats on Spotify.

What comes suddenly?

  • Conception
  • Life
  • Death
  • An accident
  • An attack
  • Destruction
  • A knock on the door
  • A thief in the night

“For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.” (1 Thessalonians 5:2 NKJV)

  • A phone call
  • An alarm
  • A hurt
  • A broken heart
  • A rise or a fall
  • Sin
  • Offense
  • Forgiveness
  • Imprisonment
  • Freedom
  • Light
  • Darkness
  • An evil spirit
  • The Holy Spirit
  • An invitation
  • A moment
  • A change
  • A twinkling of an eye

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:52 NKJV)

  • A shout
  • A trumpet sound
  • A “catching up”
  • Jesus

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord.”(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NKJV)

Are you ready for your sudden suddenly?  Suddenly can be good.  Suddenly can be bad.  Life can and will change suddenly.  Look how much our world has suddenly changed.  The lives of families change every day by sudden births and sudden deaths.  Don’t sleep through life.  Wake up and live the life God meant for us to live.  It is not too late.

Jesus is coming. I don’t know when. I do not know if it is sooner or later.  However, I know He is coming suddenly. He has given us notice.  Are you ready?  Are you sure?

“WATCH therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming–in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning– 36 “LEST, COMING SUDDENLY, he finds you sleeping. 37 “And what I say to you, I say to all: WATCH!”” (Mark 13:35-37 NKJV)

Do you know in Revelation, the last book in His will and testament,  Jesus says  five times, “I come quickly?” I hear Him saying, “I come SUDDENLY.”  It’s the same word.

I enCOURAGE you to WATCH, BE SOBER, BE ALERT and BE READY.  You can keep playing the game of life and doing what you want, but you might just miss the suddenly of Jesus.  I encourage you to SUDDENLY turn to Him. Repent.  Prepare for His sudden coming.   If my Mama told me five times in our last conversation that she was going to come quickly, I would get my house in order and prepare for her coming. I continue to work to get my spiritual and physical house in order.  I encourage you to do the same.  Get ready for our sudden suddenly of meeting Jesus face to face.

PAINT YOURSELF OUT OF OFFENSE

The Last Supper by Leonardo DaVinci

by Tammy Phillips
October 3, 2021

“Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come…” (Luke 17:1 NKJV)

“This [being] so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” (Acts 24:16 NKJV)

 Plain and simple.

Jesus gives. Satan steals.
Jesus wants us to live.  Satan was us to die.
Jesus wants to build us up.  Satan wants to destroy.
Jesus wants us to unite.  Satan wants us to divide.
Jesus wants us to forgive.  Satan wants us offended.
Jesus wants us to let go.  Satan wants us to hold on.
Jesus wants us to walk by faith.  Satan wants us to stumble in fear.
Jesus wants to hold us up.  Satan wants to trip us up.
Jesus wants us to stand.  Satan wants us to fall.

Steps into the trap of offense:

  1. Expectation
  2. Failed expectation
  3. Stunned
  4. Totter
  5. Dumbfounded
  6. Shocked
  7. Disbelief
  8. Disappointment
  9. Offense
  10. Bitterness

Steps to avoid the trap of offense:

  1. Expectation
  2. Failed expectation
  3. Stunned
  4. Stand
  5. Determination
  6. Belief
  7. Communication
  8. Forgiveness
  9. Let Go
  10. Love

This is so much easier said than done!  We have to have a plan in place because Jesus said that it is impossible that offense would not come.  However, offense comes, we have to know what we are going to do.  What does the word tell us to do in Acts 24:16?

We are to strive; exercise; train; take pains

Take pains to avoid pain. Isn’t that the God way of doing things?   It’s going to be painful either way.  Are we going to stand and deal with offense the right way, the God way or will we painfully fall into Satan’s trap of offense?  It is our choice.  Did you know that?

The Greek word for strive is also translated:  to form by art; to work up raw material with skill.

As an artist by gift, this speaks to me. Artists work painstakingly to create the piece that God has inspired in the drawing board of their mind.  Think about the time, effort, blood, sweat and tears that it took Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel (https://m.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani-mobile/en/collezioni/musei/cappella-sistina/storia-cappella-sistina.html)  or Leonardo DaVinci to paint the Last Supper?  Do we put that much effort into not taking offense?  It is the example that Paul paints for us in Acts.

I enCOURAGE you to exercise, stand, and not fall into the trap of offense.  Take the pains to avoid the pain!  Notice the word pain makes up eighty percent of the word paint.  Artfully take the steps to paint yourself right out of offense into the beautiful picture of love.

“GOD IS A COLLECTOR” OF OUR PRAYERS

Bowls made of gold are rare. This is a small 2″ x 3″ 14kt gold bowl made by Tiffany and Company in 1948. It is valued at over $50,ooo. The value of the bowls John saw in heaven and their contents are invaluable to us and sweet to the LORD.

October 2, 2021

“Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and GOLDEN BOWLS FULL OF INCENSE, WHICH ARE THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS.” (Revelation 5:8 NKJV)

If I had to pick one phrase to summarize Revelation 5, I would say, “Worthy is the Lamb.”   However, as I meditated on the chapter, I could not get away from the twenty-four-gold bowls full of incense around the throne of God, which are the prayers of the saints.  Why and what were they doing in John’s beautifully painted picture of the worthy Lamb? They seemed out of place to me in this chapter, but of course that was a wrong thought.  They were perfectly placed there by our loving Father.  Let’s see why.

First, the bowls were gold which seems to be one of the LORD’S choice substances and colors.  Using today’s price of gold, the amount of gold the LORD inspired David to collect for Solomon to build the First temple is approximately $180 billion. We should realize this is just change in His economy.  I believe God likes gold.  I don’t just have gold bowls laying around my house, but God does. And our prayers are collected in the precious bowls.

Secondly, the bowls were full. They were full because they contained the prayers of Abraham, Isaiah, Jacob, David, the apostles, the persecuted, Paul, John, Charles Spurgeon, Smith Wigglesworth, Billy Graham, Kenneth Hagin, you, me, and every other saint that ever lived, but most importantly, Jesus.

Third, the bowls were full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.  These bowls held their rightful place in worship of the Lamb because they provided a sweet smell to the throne.

When we bake anything whether it be bread, cookies, cakes, or my favorite key lime, we must have measured amounts of the right ingredients. The ingredients must be mixed properly and then heat added to produce a sweet smelling baked good.  Picture the prayers as ingredients. Obviously, they became tangible when they reached heaven because they are contained in a bowl not just floating in the atmosphere. Our prayers become substance.  They become ingredients that God can work with to accomplish His will on earth.  Look at some of ingredients that could be included in the making of the sweet-smelling incense:

  • The prayers of Jesus ever interceding for Us.
  • Holy Spirit inspired written and spoken words by the saints.
  • Prayerful reminders of not only the LORD’s promises, but also the work of Jesus, repeated back to Him.
  • Declarations that the LORD is God, our complete reliance and belief in Him, all that He is and has done.
  • United harmonic prayers.
  • Brave, courageous, faith filled prayers.
  • Living amazed at the awesomeness of God prayers.
  • Prayers for the naturally impossible by the saints who “calls those things that are not, as though they were,” to the God of all possibilities.
  • Not to mention, what Godly parent does not adore every word spoken by their child? God loves to hear from His kids just like we do.

Mix ALL the prayers of ALL the saints together… which really are only meaningful because of the intercession of our High Priest…add the all- important fire of Holy Spirt to cause the prayers to rise. The sweet smell of worship then surrounds the throne just like the smell of chocolate chip cookies invades our home when all ingredients are properly added, mixed and baked.

Think…Our prayers are so important to God that He collects and saves them in twenty-four golden bowls in heaven. And He calls them sweet.

I enCOURAGE you to offer up your own prayers to our Heavenly Father.  Give Him something to work with.   Add to the golden bowls of worship. Adore the Lamb that was slain so that we could even have access to throne of God.  Ask Him for anything and believe Him for everything. Jesus is LORD overall.

BEHOLD AND KNOW THE LAMB OF GOD

by Tammy Phillips
October 1, 2021

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 NKJV)

The Spirit of God was all over John the Baptist. The first time he met Jesus was in the womb of his mother and Jesus was in the womb of his mother. The Bible tell us he leapt inside his mother’s womb when they first met.  John knew by the Spirit who Jesus really was.

John was busy proclaiming the coming Messiah when he ran into Jesus twice. He did not call him by his given name.  He pointed him out by saying:

“BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD!”  Today, take time to stop.  BEHOLD.  LOOK.  KNOW THE LAMB OF GOD!

Do you know the book of Revelation is not about the end of time as much as it is about the Revelation of Jesus Christ?  It is about the uncovering and making known Jesus.  Do you know that the word “Jesus” only appears twelve times in Revelation, but the word “Lamb” is mentioned twenty-six times in reference to Jesus?  Jesus was, is and will always be the Savior, but the Lamb was the payment for our sins.  In 1 Peter 1:18-19 the Bible says we are “redeemed…with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

Jesus is our payment.  In Revelation Jesus is…

The Lamb Who was standing, as though He had been slain. (5:6)

The Lamb Who was Worthy to take the book and open the seal. (5:3 & 6:1)

The Lamb Who was, is, and will always be worshipped with harps, and songs and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints. (5:8)

The Lamb, Who is Worthy that, was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. (5:12)

The Lamb who every creature proclaims: Blessing, and honor and glory and power, forever! (5:13)

The Lamb who is Salvation (7:9-10)

The Lamb who washes the saints of the Great Tribulation robes white with His blood. (7:14)

The Lamb Who is the Shepherd. (7:17)

The Lamb Who leads us to the living fountains of water. (7:17)

The Lamb Who empowers us to overcome by his blood and by the word of our testimony. (12:11)

The Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world. (13:8)

The Lamb Whose songs goes like this: “Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true [are] thy ways, thou King of saints.” (15:3)

The Lamb Who overcomes for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: the Lamb Who says that they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (17:14)

The Lamb Who Says: “Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (19.9)

The Lamb Who along with the Lord God Almighty are the temple in the great city. (21.22)

The Lamb Who is the Light. (21:23)

The Lamb Who flows forth a pure crystal clear, river of water of life. (22:1)

I enCOURAGE you to focus on the Lamb of God, the Sacrificial Lamb who took our place and died for us!   Worth is the Lamb!   Glory to the Lamb!  Thank you, Most Precious Lamb!  Fall down before the Lamb and worship.  Join with the Revelation 5 choir of the four living creatures, the twenty-four elders, the angels, the ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, and every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, and me.

Sing a new song to Him who sits on the throne and say with a loud voice,

You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” (Rev 9 :10)

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” (Rev 5:12)

“Blessing and honor and glory and power to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”  (Rev 5:13) AMEN.

A BOOK THAT ONLY ONE CAN OPEN

Do you think I like books? This is not staged. It is the true, current state of my dining room table. I am convicted. I will be cleaning off this table of books as soon as I post this.

by Tammy Phillips
September 30, 2021

“And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.” (Revelation 5:3 NKJV)

Of course my inquisitive self wants to know what is in the book that “no one” could or can open.  More importantly,  I want to know the One who can open it.

I have not always loved to write, but I have always loved to read.  I like books.  I love my Bible because it helps me to get to know the Worthy One.  I like photo albums, picture books, scrapbooks, cookbooks, journals, inspirational reads, devotional, self-help, and history books.  I even like empty books where wisdom, thoughts and personal histories can be recorded.  You can literally find books tucked away in many corners of our home because we have run out of shelf space.

Books impart knowledge and provide escape. Books are meant to be opened and read. In ancient times a book was a scroll. The rolls of the scroll would be on the left and the right sides.  To open the scroll, it would be unrolled. In Revelation 5 Johns sees that there is one seven-sealed-book written in heaven that “no one in heaven nor on earth or under the earth was able to open,” and it made John sad.  He wrote:

“So, I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.” (Revelation 5:4 NKJV)

No one was found worthy to open, read or to look at it.  This disheartens me.  What is in the book?  I do not know; nobody does accept God. The thought of what might be in the book just sent shivers over my body and made me very sad.  You and I are counted in that “no one” statement.  No one except Jesus was (and is) worthy to open it.

BUT GOD…He had a plan.

There was One who was worthy.
There was One who was resolute.
There was One who prevailed.
There was One who had overcome.
There was One who had conquered.
There was One who had won.
There was One who was victorious.

One of the twenty-four elders told John not to weep, there was One worthy (Rev.5:5).  His name was:

The Lion of the tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:9-10)
The Root of David (Isaiah 11:10)
Jesus Christ, our Lord

John was looking for a lion in the middle of the throne, but saw, standing,a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.”(Rev.5:6)    The One and Only, worthy, prevailing, resolute Jesus came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.” (Revelation 5: 7 NKJV)

Jesus has been sitting on the throne up to this point.  When Jesus stands, we best pay attention. He stands as “a Lamb as though it had been slain.

“This is very remarkable; so important is the sacrificial offering of Christ in the sight of God that he is still represented as being in the very act of pouring out his blood for the offences of man.” -Clarke

What Jesus did by stepping out of heaven, shedding his blood, and dying on the cross as a sacrifice for us is still very fresh in the thoughts of God.  His blood is still overcoming today.  He alone is worthy.

I enCOURAGE you to open the one book that was written specifically for us.  It is alive.  In so many different ways the Word of God continues to reveal who Jesus was, is and will always be, chapter after chapter.  Open your Bible and read about the One, the only One, who is worthy to unseal the one book that has not been opened.  He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.  He is the Root od David.  He is Jesus.  Glory to the Lamb that was slain for you and me.

WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?

by Tammy Phillips
September 29, 2021

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11 KJV)

“What is my purpose?  Why am I here?”  How many times a day are those questions asked on planet earth?  How many times have we asked those questions in the course of our lives?  The. answer is in plain sight in the black and white writing of Revelation 4:11.   Drum roll!  Are you ready?  Our purpose is His pleasure. We are and were created for the pleasure of the Lord God.

Every breath we take, every move we make, everything we do and everything we do not do, everything we say and everything we pray should bring glory to our Heavenly Father.

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV)

How do we fulfill our purpose in life?  As created beings, the children of God, we bring glory and honor and power to God who has created all things.  It is why we exist.  We can do all things through Him and nothing without Him.  Everything we have or have ever done is to the credit of God, our Father.  Anything and everything we have is because of Him.  He deserves all the glory.  Every victory and success, His. Until we give Him the glory that He is due, we are not fulfilling our created purpose.  Wonder why so many people are unhappy?

I enCOURAGE you to fulfill your purpose.  Whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.  I know that easier said than done, but it is our mission here on earth and in heaven.  We created for His pleasure to bring glory to His name.

WORSHIP:  BLOWING KISSES TO HEAVENLY FATHER

by Tammy Phillips
September 28, 2021

“Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty–the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.” (Revelation 4:8 NLT)

My perception is that worship has been made to be a “churchy” word.  It is not.  I hope to paint you a different picture.

When John saw the four creatures around the throne of God, He describes them in the best way as he could.  They were not of this world for sure.  The King James version translates the Greek word zōon as beasts.   This word is a derivative of zaō which means to live, to breath, to enjoy real life.    The four beings described were covered with eyes everywhere and had six wings. Most importantly they were alive! They were living beings with one important job in heaven.  For eternity they would lead the worship in heaven, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, the one Who always was, Who is, and Who is still to come.”  They adored the LORD.  As parents how much do we treasure the love, hugs, kisses, and words of our children?

When the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to Him (the LORD) who sits on the throne, to the LORD who lives forever and ever, to our Life giver, and eternal Father, the twenty-four elders fall down before the LORD and wordship Him with their whole being.  They say,

“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11 NKJV)

If this is a picture of what we are going to do for eternity, and I believe it is, isn’t the Lord God Almighty worthy of all our worship now?    Worship leads us into His presence where minds can be changed, revelation can be revealed, healing and freedom can manifest.  Worship is God’s plan and frankly, our job forever. It not a bad “gig.”

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” (John 4:23 NKJV)

Since worship is obviously a part of God’s eternal plan, what is worship?  Worship in not just good music or a good song. Worship is the Greek work proskuneo.  According to Strong’s Concordance, it means to fall on the ground toward someone and to kiss; to fawn; to crouch; prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to; adore). Worship is intimate. Worship is a picture of us kneeling our spirit, mind and/or body before God.  It is revering Him.  Worship is a picture of bowing and offering an adoring, loving kiss to the One who sits on the throne.  Worship is laying it all out before the LORD.  Worship is getting lost in our Heavenly Father…all He was, is and will always be!  The living beings worship Him day and night.  We can, too, anywhere, and anytime. He sends us winks all the time, the least we can do is throw our Dad loving kisses.

I enCOURAGE you to join me and spend more time worshipping our Lord who is worthy!   His presence, there is nothing like His presence.  Without worship there is no way to truly experience God and His presence.  Plus, worship now is training for eternity.  The Lord adores us and it is only fitting as His children that we return His favor.  Throw our Dad the loving kisses that He more than deserves!

“I can safely say, on the authority of all that is revealed in the Word of God, that any man or woman on this earth who is bored and turned off by worship is not ready for heaven.” -A.W. Tozer
