I honestly do not believe that anybody loves a party more than God.  His parties look a little bit different, but I know He is all about rejoicing and having a good time.  In the Old Testament He established dates and times to remember and celebrate victories in Him.  God’s parties are a time to join together and worship Him.  We do the same on earth.  We join together to celebrate birthdays, weddings, and world championship wins like the Braves!  This chapter begins with the music turned up in heaven in celebration of the fall of Babylon and in preparation for the party-of-all-parties, the marriage feast of the Lamb.  Picture Sanford Stadium on a cool crisp fall Saturday with 100,00 of your closest friends.  One side yells, “GEORGIA,” and the other side exclaims, BULLDAWGS!”  As cool as Sanford is on a Saturday,  it is nothing in comparison to the great multitude of Revelation 19 in heaven erupting with loud voices of Alleluia!

“Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication!” (v.1)

 “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” (v.3)

“Amen! Alleluia!” from the bowed down and worshipping twenty-four elders and the four living creatures. (v.4)

“Then a voice came from the throne, saying, ‘Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!” (v.5)

 “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!” came from the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings! (v.6)

Can you picture it?  There are cheerleaders in heaven leading the “alleluias!”  His bride is so thrilled with the LORD GOD and His victory over the Scarlett Harlot.  It’s wedding time in heaven!  He has prepared His bride for the wedding and celebration.  Heaven is the venue for the Marriage of the Lamb and the Supper.   More importantly, the Lord God Omnipotent reigns.  He is the Ruler of all and all ruling. He is the reigning God Almighty. He who holds sway over all things. He is all powerful. He is everything mighty. He is the “Force!”

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright white, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” (Revelation 19:7-8 NKJV)

He even picked out our wedding dress for us! Can you imagine if your groom picked out your dress for you? No hassle just show-up and put it on.  He tells John to write:

“Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God.” (Revelation 19:9 KJV)

We are blessed and supremely happy.  We are blessed because of Jesus. We are blessed because we are called.  We are blessed because we are invited. We are blessed because we are eternally His  and we will enjoy the benefits of a great marriage to the Lamb of God and KING OF KINGS!  

I love that John’s guide told him to write it down. These are the true words of God.  This is no fairy tale.  This is what we have to look forward to if we choose to believe  and follow Jesus. 

I enCOURAGE you to first, choose Jesus.  Second, do not waste time preparing for the wedding of all weddings.  If you do not trust Jesus, the Bridegroom, and His words here on earth, why do you think you will when, and if, you make it to heaven.  We will meet Jesus face to face and we will not be able to stop singing His praises.  And one day, sooner than later,  we will meet Him either as our Groom and King, or as our Judge. It is your choice.  Choose Jesus, now!  You DO NOT want to miss the party!

“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” (Revelation 18:1-2 KJV)

The Harlot, Babylon the great, has many tentacles.  In chapter 17 (over the past two days) we have seen that the Harlot was a false religion system. In chapter 18 we discover  that Babylon, the religious system, falls.  Babylon also had a commercial tentacle and place of residence. It was a city named  Babylon. Remember, the Hebrew word for Babylon means confusion.  It was in Babylon where man rebelled against God’s directive to spread out over the earth.  They decided to build a tower to heaven and plant in a city. (Genesis 11:1-9) The ancient city of Babylon was located in Iraq.  The Babylonian city talked about in chapter 18 will fall too, just do not know the exact location of this city.

We read that Babylon falls in Rev.18:1-2.  In verse 4  God warns His people:

“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.’”

Dr. Hilton Sutton in Revelation Revealed, page 211, said it best, “Within the world religious orders are many God-fearing men and women who have no desire to be part of the harlot church.  The Holy Spirit warned these people of the danger and pleads with them to draw away from these religious organizations moving from God.”  These people are described by Paul as “having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2 Timothy 3:5 KJV)  Paul says, turn away from them!  If we do not know the word of God, how will we know what we are to turn away from?  How will we heed the warning to  “beware of false prophets who will come looking like sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matthew 7:15).  Paul and Matthew were talking about  the same group of people.

The Harlot religious system was so bad that in chapter 17, the ten kings turned on the Harlot and planned her destruction. “The ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire.” (Revelation 17:16 NKJV).  The religious system, the seat of Satan, seemed to be based in one commercially thriving city, Babylon.  I do not know if this city is now or will be rebuilt. We see there will be a multitude of economic development and great wealth built in the Antichrist system.  

“For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” (Revelation 18:3 NKJV) Does the city already exist, or will it be developed quickly? I do not know. 

I do know that in  the verses below she will be wiped out by fire in one day…in one hour.

“Therefore, her plagues will come in one day–death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong [is] the Lord God who judges her.” (Revelation 18:8 NKJV)

“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.'” (Revelation 18:9-10 NKJV)

She will be “utterly burned by fire” and they will be “standing at a distance for fear of her torment.”   Many interpret this to mean that nuclear weapons may be used, and that radiation will keep people away from the city.  “For in one hour she is made desolate.” (Revelation 18:19 NKJV) How else could this happen?

The world will mourn their beloved Scarlett Harlot, Babylon.  What they thought they wanted and longed for is gone.  The Babylonian system and its tentacles are gone to be found no more.   “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: … “The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all.” (Revelation 18:11,14 NKJV)

I enCOURAGE you to read  Revelation 18 and learn from it.  I have, or Lord, I hope I have.   The stuff is NOTHING.  “For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.” (Revelation 18:17 NKJV) Jesus is everything.  He alone makes our life rich.  Nothing, no clothes, no jewelry, no house, no car, no drug, no food, no alcohol, and no one, can fill the hole that can only be filled by Jesus.  Keep looking if you must.  You are wasting your time.  Fill your life with Jesus not things. They can be gone in a second.

Also, get into the word of God so that you KNOW what is wrong and right for yourself.  Be led by your pastors, evangelist, prophets, and teachers, but  do not lean on their words alone.  They are men and can err.  If they have a form of godliness, but deny the power and the faith, RUN!

“But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. “The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition.” (Revelation 17:6-8 NKJV)

In Revelation 17 John is connecting  history past to future happenings.  The “beast” was, the beast went away and will come again.   According to hours of reading and research, the beast is a system and a man.  The beast described in the verse above is the revived Roman Empire that was, was destroyed and will be revived again as the European Union and will also be the Antichrist.  See further explanation below. 

“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.”   (Revelation 17:10 KJV)

“Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come.  This is one of the more difficult passages in the Book of Revelation.  Some explain these seven kings, five past, one present, and one to come in the succession of Roman Emperors in John’s era, but there are many historical difficulties with this approach. More likely, it is a reference to:

“‘Five have fallen’ refers to the five world empires before John’s day: Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Medo-Persia, and Greece. ‘One  is’ refers to the world empire of John’s day: Rome. ‘The other has not yet’ come refers to the one world empire to come: a revival of the Roman Empire”-David Gusik(https://www.blueletterbible.org/Comm/guzik_david/StudyGuide2017-Rev/Rev-17.cfm?a=1184017)

“The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.” (Revelation 17:11 NKJV).

This beast is the eighth king with characteristics of the seven empires. He is “going to perdition”  or destruction.  He will be destroyed and has a one-way ticket to destruction and hell!

“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. “These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.” (Revelation 17:12-13 NKJV)

It’s kind of like Europe, the revived Roman Empire brought back from the dead says, “Hey!  Let’s unite and become a super-power and take over the world, a United Nations of Europe.” This does not necessarily mean that ten horns are individual nations forming the union, Europe could be divided into ten regions or kingdoms and ruled by ten kings. Not sure how this will pan out, however, scripture obviously points to the fact that they will appoint one leader.   Guess who?  You got it.  The Antichrist.  They will align and become allies with the Antichrist.  “They will give their power and authority to the beast.” 

The Antichrist spirit has been trying to wipe God off the face of the earth since his fall.  Plans have been in the making.  Satan has fooled himself into believing  that he has amassed a kingdom and army powerful enough to take over the world and wipe God out.  Not so!  Satan tried to set himself up as king of kings.  But God…

“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those [who are] with Him [are] called, chosen, and faithful.” (Revelation 17:14 NKJV)

I enCOURAGE you to always keep this in the forefront of your thoughts:  THE LAMB OVERCAME!  THE LAMB WILL OVERCOME!  The name of Jesus is above all names.  He is above the name of the Beast and his empire.  We win.  No matter what it looks like right now.  The Kingdom of God prevails with Jesus as our leader, King of kings and Lord of lords. The battles are hard, but  JESUS WINS!  We Winn because we are on the winning side!

I strongly encourage you to ask Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning behind Revelation 17 and the rest of His word to you.   Do your own research.  Read.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” (Revelation 17:1-2 NKJV)”

Let’s start strong today.   The word harlot is the Greek word porne which means a female whore, or prostitute who sells herself for gain.  Porne is a derivative of pornos which is a male whore, or prostitute.  Obviously, it is the origin of the word pornography.   Many  great leaders and persons have been seduced by her and sold their self for power and money.  They drank her “Kool-Aid.”

Many commentators see the “great harlot” as a false religious system leading humanity to trust in anything other than Jesus Christ for their relationship with God.  For example, many believe works, election, their goodness, or something other than or in addition to Jesus will  bring them to or closer to God.  Jesus is the only way.  In the Bible, “spiritually,”  adultery is the worship of any another god.  It is the worship of money (Mammon in the Bible), sex (Baal in Old Testament), drugs/alcohol (sorcery), food, child sacrifice/abortion (Molech in the Bible), power, fame, sports, or music “stars.”  It is putting anything before God.  I see the Scarlet Harlot as anything that entices you and leads you away from God.  It is anything that sets itself in your life above your worship of God.  It is anything that sets itself as an authority which you have to go through to reach God.   Jesus is the only way!  There is nothing or no one, including the Pope or a priest, that bridges the gap to God. Only one road leads to God. it is Jesus.   Anything else is an enticement by the Scarlet Harlot.  Don’t “drink her Kool-Aid” because it really is a “Hot-Hinderance.”  It is suicide and will lead directly to hell.

THE SCARLET BEAST (THE ANTICHRIST)

“So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast [which was] full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.” (Revelation 17:3 NKJV)

This beast is described  first in Revelation 12 and 13 and is exposed as the Antichrist.  The woman riding the antichrist spirit is the great Scarlet Harlot.

DESCRIPTION OF THE HARLOT

“The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name [was] written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” (Revelation 17:4-5 NKJV)

This is not your picture of a prostitute or streetwalker.  This a picture of a high-class hooker.  She is “dressed-to-kill.”  She is a tool of the antichrist  that has been walking the streets of earth for a long, long time.  Her mission is to entice and get people “hooked” on the false in order to reject the TRUTH.  God sees her as  “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Let’s look at her names:

“MYSTERY,” oddly enough, means hidden or secret thing, hidden purpose, or counsel.   It is a derivative of muo,  to shut the mouth.

 “BABYLON THE GREAT” means “Confusion the great.”  We get the word babble from Babylon.  There is a whole lot of babbling and confusion going on right now. Jesus made the way to God very simple.  Man, and religion has confused the way to God. 

 “THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS indicates that every evil and destructive thing on earth results from the operation of Satan and through her.” -Hilton Sutton, pg. 177 

“THE MOTHER OF ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH” An abomination is a foul, detestable thing and is often used of idols and things pertaining to idolatry. She is the mother of all detestable things rejected by God for immorality and impurity.

“I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.” (Revelation 17:6 NKJV)

 I enCOURAGE you “My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye. … That they may keep you from the immoral woman, From the seductress [who] flatters with her words. … With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, With her flattering lips she seduced him. … Now therefore, listen to me, [my] children; Pay attention to the words of my mouth: Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, Do not stray into her paths; For she has cast down many wounded, And all who were slain by her were strong [men]. Her house [is] the way to hell, Descending to the chambers of death.” (Proverbs 7:1-2, 5, 21, 24-27 NKJV) Don’t drink the Kool-Aid. 

If you think this was hard to read and understand, imagine how hard it is to write.

Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
THE EVERLASTING GOD, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable. (Isaiah 40:28 NKJV)

There is a quote: “Nothing lasts forever.”  It is a lie.  Our God is forever.  He is ever.  He is everlasting, evermore and perpetual.  He is the beginning and the end; He is the First and the Last.  He is from along time ago.  He is now and He will always be.  He is the Ancient of Days. He is eternity.  

God is not a television show that can nor will be cancelled.  God is eternal.  During prayer this week, I heard deep in my spirit:  “I AM GOD.  I WILL NOT BE CANCELLED.”

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)

The thief attempts to cancel God.  Why do you think the enemy is trying to remove His name and word from our great country?     

Be clear!  Satan came to cancel you and me.  His mission is  to bring us to nothingness, annul, invalidate, abolish, put an end to, to deface, to invalidate for reuse, to mark us and strike us out for deletion, and to render us useless by  destroying our life force and effectiveness.  He would  love to silence us, and Not happening. 

Here is the good news!

• God is not cancelled
• Hope is not cancelled.
• Deliverance is not cancelled.
• Healing is not cancelled.
• Salvation is not cancelled.
• Righteous is not cancelled.
• Truth is not cancelled.
• The word of God is not cancelled.
• As children of God, you and I are not cancelled.

 “But despite all this, I will not utterly reject or despise them while they are in exile in the land of their enemies. I will not cancel my covenant with them by wiping them out, for I am the LORD their God. (Leviticus 26:44 NLT).

This also applies to Christians under the New Covenant. God will always be faithful to the covenant, for the sake of the covenant we have with God through Jesus.

 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.  For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So, you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”  (Colossians 2:8-10 NLT)

Christ is the Ruler of all.  We are complete in Him and cannot be cancelled.   We were created to live eternally with God and then sin entered into the world and attempted to cancel that plan.  BUT GOD…had a better plan to buy us back. 

“He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it out of the way by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross”. (Colossians 2:14-15 NLT)

Cancel is the Greek word exaleiphō which means blotted out; wiped away; washed in every part; whitewashed; obliterated; erased; deleted.  

We are not cancelled and never will be as children of the Most- High EVERLASTING GOD who follow Him and are obedient to His word.  We are the opposite of cancelled.  Meditate on each of the following words.  We are approved, established, upheld, continued, authorized, supported, called, strengthened, mended, favorited, elected, preserved, chosen, endorsed, verified, enlarged and written in the Lamb’s book of Life.

We should always follow God’s word and  strive not to be like the Pharisees of Jesus’ day.  Jesus said of them:   ” And so, you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. (7) You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, (8) ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. (9) Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.'” (Matthew 15:6-9 NLT)

I enCOURAGE you to receive the cancellation of your sins by Jesus.  Do not allow anyone else to cancel you nor silence your God given voice.  When you follow the LORD God, the Everlasting Father, you can rest assured that God will never be cancelled, nor will He allow you to be.  Stand and courageously proclaim  His Truth.  Hallelujah!

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 NKJV)

“He has shown you, O man, what [is] good; And what does the LORD require of you But   to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 NKJV)

What is required?   What is good according to God?  God has shown us:

1. Do justly

Do the right thing.  Do what is right to all and do wrong to none.   Do what is true and honest.  Do what is fair. Do the will of God according to His word.  Be true to your word.  Treat all the way God would treat them.  Doing good is doing the right thing.

2. Love mercy

Delight, desire,  and breathe after mercy.  Love kindness. Desire goodness.  Delight in lovingkindness.  Seek to be loving and kind.  Doing good is showing favor like God and unconditional lovingkindness. Loving mercy is a strong desire to good for others.

3. Walk humbly with God

God is God and we are not.  Go low with God because  He is the Highest.   Walk submissively with Him.  We are inferior to the Superior, Supreme God.  Remember, Satan tried to elevate himself above God and it will land him bound in hell.  When we choose to do our own thing, and not what God has asked of us, we act just like Satan.

“Every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 CSB)

Walk modestly with the LORD.  Give the Lord His due respect.

“Humility must be in the heart, and then it will come out spontaneously as the outflow of  life in every act that a man performs.” -Charles Spurgeon

I enCOURAGE again to do good and do God.  God has shown us what is good and what is required.  He has made it plain and  simple:  do the right thing, love doing the right thing, and be humble.

GOD IS GOOD!  (Psalm 73:1, 100:5, 135:3, 145:9, Lamentations 3:25, Nahum 1:7)

God is good and He does good. (Psalm 119:68). Since God IS GOOD, can we deduce that doing good is doing God, or doing things the God way.  Doing good is doing things the right way. 

“Depart from evil and DO GOOD; Seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14 NKJV)
Depart from evil and do God.

“Trust in the LORD and DO GOOD.”  (Psalm 37:3 NKJV)
Trust in the LORD and do God.

“Learn to DO GOOD; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17 NKJV)
Learn to do God.  Do things God’s way.

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, DO GOOD to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,” (Matthew 5:44 NKJV)
DO GOD to those who hate you!  Love your enemies!  Bless those who curse you!  Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you!  Jesus did. 

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us DO GOOD to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”(Galatians 6:10 NKJV)
Do God to all.  Be the hands and feet of Jesus to all.

“But do not forget to DO GOOD and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16 NKJV)
Do not forget to do God.  This rings in my ears.  How often do we forget to do things God’s way?

“Therefore, to him who knows to DO GOOD and does not do [it], to him it is sin.” (James 4:17 NKJV)
When we know how God wants us to do good and act like Him, and we don’t., it is sin. OUCH! 

“Turn away from evil and DO GOOD; seek peace and pursue it.” (1 Peter 3:11 NKJV)
Turn away from evil and do God.  Do it all His way, the right way.

“Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21 NKJV)
Overcome evil with God.

I enCOURAGE you to do God and do good.  Choose the God way. Choose the good way.  Choose the right way. This is something that will have to be repeated over and over again until we get it right.  As we present our bodies as a living sacrifice, living dead in Him, crucified in Christ,  we become more like Him in doing good.  Sometimes doing good and doing God is simply taking a pause before we speak or react.  Yes, there is a lot of doing good in the pause.  In the pause the flesh is crucified and the Spirit of God who lives inside us is allowed to rise above.  Do good; do God.  Just pause.

“For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men–“ (1 Peter 2:15 NKJV)

“Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, ‘Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.'” (Revelation 16:1 NKJV)

This is not the easiest read but John saw and described to us what sin would lead to in Revelation 16. 

FIRST BOWL:  Loathsome Sores (v.2) 
A foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. This only affected the “marked.”

SECOND BOWL: The Sea Turns to Blood (v.3)
The sea became blood like a dead person (thick; coagulated; very smelly; not flowing) and every living creature in the sea died.

THE THIRD BOWL: The Waters Turn to Blood (v.4-7)
The rivers and springs of water became blood.

“And I heard the angel of the waters saying: ‘You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.’ And I heard another from the altar saying, ‘Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous [are] Your judgments.’” (Revelation 16:5-7 NKJV) 

The water sources of the earth which had partially been affected by previous plagues become completely affected leaving no water source!

THE FOURTH BOWL: Men Are Scorched (v.8-9)
This bowl was poured on the sun.  Men were scorched and burned with great heat and fire from the sun.  I would say that you could call this  “global warming.”  They continued to blaspheme the name of God, not repent, nor give Him glory.

THE FIFTH BOWL: Darkness and Pain (v. 10-11)
The fifth  bowl was poured out on the throne of the beast.  His kingdom became full of darkness and pain.  They blasphemed  God because of their pains and their sores. They still  did not repent of their deeds.  These were some hard-hearted, stubborn peeps.  It is hard to believe that anybody would be left that did not have the mark of the beast.  Why would scripture say that they did not repent, if they didn’t have the opportunity to repent?  The mark takes away their window of opportunity to be saved.  They suffered badly and kept blaspheming God.  

THE SIXTH BOWL:  The Euphrates Dried Up (v.12)
The great Euphrates River was dried up to make a way for the kings of the east and the 200-million-man army mentioned in Revelation 9. The Euphrates is about 1800 miles long and 300 to 1200 yards wide.  Its great size was a deterrent for land invasions from the east.  I hope you see how each of the woes released in Revelation 9 was a warning and precursor to the wrath of God to be released in chapter 16. Again, time-after- time God gives people the chance to turn to Him.

ARMAGEDDON:  The Armies of Satan called to war against Jesus (v. 13-16) Three unclean, evil spirits come out of the mouths of the dragon (Satan), the beast (Antichrist), and the false prophet. The evil spirits call the kings of the earth and the whole world together  to “battle on the great dayof God Almighty,” the battle of Armageddon.

Jesus:  “’Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed [is] he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.’ And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.” (Revelation 16:15-16 NKJV)

SEVENTH BOWL:  The Final Judgments (v.17-21)

 “Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, ‘It is done!’”(Revelation 16:17 NKJV)

This bowl follows Jesus’ opening seal six (Rev. 6:12-17) and the blow of the final trumpet (Rev. 11:15-19).  The world was rocked by loud noise, thunder, lightning, and the biggest earthquake since man was on earth.  Jerusalem was divided into thirds and other cities fell.  Islands ran and mountains disappeared.  Sounds like earth took a beating and was flattened.  And then… hail rained down that was the weight of a talent which is anywhere from 100 to 200 lbs.  This was big hail from Big God.  Unbelievably, after the great heat, the great river drying up, the great earthquake and the exceedingly great hail, the unrepentant man still blasphemed God.

The picture painted in Revelation 16 is so horrific!  Makes me gag.   Marked people are tormented by sores and pain. The smell of coagulated blood and burning skin heated by the scorching sun is putrid.  There is no water to drink.  All left must dodge the great earthquake and humongous hailstones.  Men continued to sin as they spoke against God.  The only way of escape was and is Jesus.

I enCOURAGE you to rest in the salvation of Jesus knowing that you are not appointed to this wrath if you have turned to Him. Holy Spirit keeps showing me His mercy, grace, and love through all of Revelation.  God repeatedly warns mankind of the results of sin.  Some turn to Him  and some don’t.  God could have wiped out His entire creation in one swoop when man first sinned.  He chose a different way of redemption, Jesus. Do not fear.  I plead with you to choose Jesus!  Turn to Him if you have not.

“Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.” (Revelation 15:1 NKJV)

Chapter 15 is the shortest book in Revelation.  It is a small snapshot from heaven advertising what is going on before the throne and what is about to happen on earth.  John calls it a sign.  Isn’t that what advertising signs do?  They point us to what is coming up.  What does John see? Seven angels with the seven last plagues.  I was surprised to find out that plague is the Greek word, plege, meaning wound, strike, stripe, or blow. This is the final blow, the knockout punch.   Thank God!  He sent Jesus to take the wrath for us.  

“He [was] wounded for our transgressions, [He was] bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace [was] upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV)  

Jesus was wounded so we do not have to be.  Jesus was struck so we do not get what we deserved. By His stripes we are healed, whole and complete.  In the final days, all left on earth who have rejected Jesus will experience the wrath of God.  Ephesian 5:6 tells us “the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” (See Ephesians 5:3-5 to see what the disobedient do). He’s warned the people about their walk before.  “Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins.” (Leviticus 26:21 NKJV) Jesus delivers us from the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10 NKJV). Again, thank You, God!

 John has already told us in Revelation 14 that a bloodbath will come.  Again, chapter 15 is an advertisement to what is coming in chapter 16, a detailed look back and description of the severity of the final, executed, complete judgements leading up to Armageddon.

In Revelation 15:2 we get a glimpse of heaven and those who have overcome standing on the sea of glass. We see “those who have the victory” victory over the beast…over his image…over his mark… over the number of his name. They have harps of God, and they sing the victory song!

“They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: ‘Great and marvelous [are] Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true [are] Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For [You] alone [are] holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.’” (Revelation 15:3-4 NKJV)

They praise God for His works, His ways , His worthiness, and His worship.  It’s all about the Lord God. They have overcome, are victorious in Him alone and recognize it in song.  I know the Lord loves a good song.  Heaven is going to be so full of music.

In Revelation 15:5-8 the preparation is done for the last seven plagues to be released.  The angels  were dressed and ready in white linen and their breast girded with golden girdles.

They were released and received  the seven bowls of wrath from one of the four living creatures.  No turning back.  Stay tuned for what will be released in chapter 16.

I enCOURAGE you to stop and take a good look at God. Focus on Him!  Revelation shows us the best of heaven and the worst that will happen on earth.  God is so gracious and such a good Director.  He reveals the beast, “666,” and the worst battle in history resulting in a 200-mile blood bath in Revelation 13  and 14. He knows He has challenged us and  laid a lot on us. He gives us a  break in chapter 15, knowing what will be revealed to us in the horrific episode 16, The Seven Bowls of Wrath.   Thank God…

“God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,” (1 Thessalonians 5:9 NKJV)  Focus on this!

REVELATION 14

On October 26, we discussed Revelation 7 and the 144,000 sealed Jews at the beginning of the Great Tribulation.  In Revelation 14:1-5 we see them victoriously singing at the end of the Great Tribulation!

Next, we see the ministry of three angels in Revelation 14:7-11. This is straightforward and to the point. Their job is to preach the gospel to the ones left on earth. Father God in all His mercy is still trying to reach the last soul.  He sends angels to speak loudly and proclaim:

Angel 1 (v.7): 

• Fear God. Fear God alone and not the beast.
• Give glory to Him.
• The hour of His judgment has come.
• Worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea, and springs of water.
• In chapter 13, the Beast demands worship. God asks for our worship.

Angel 2(v.8):

• Babylon is fallen.
• “She has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
• —Stay tuned to Rev 17 to see what this fully means.   In a nutshell, spiritual fornication is over, the harlot religious system is done, and the worship of any other God is over.  Jesus is King.  Jesus drank the cup of wrath on the cross, so we didn’t have to. Sadly, if Jesus is rejected, the Father’s wrath is poured up for His enemies.  Angel 3 describes the pour, and it is bad.

Angel 3(v.9-11):

• Anyone who worships the beast and his image…
• Anyone who receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand…
• He will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full
• He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
• The smoke of their torment will ascend forever and ever.
• They have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
• Get the mark and receive forever torment. NO SALVATION.

God is merciful.  He sent Jesus to preach His word.  When Jesus exited the earth, He left His disciples to spread the good news.  The disciples left the Church, the body of Christ, to share the gospel.  When the bride of Christ, the Church, is called to heaven, God raises the 144, 000.   After they finish their assignment, the ministering angels and the two witnesses take over preaching the gospel.  Salvation is proclaimed until end of days.

Humanity is told and  given a choice between the torment of Rev. 14:9-11 and the rest found in Rev. 14:13.  We have the option to rebel against God and willingly receive torment now and eternally. We have a much better option.  Choose Jesus, patiently endure, keep His commandments, and the faith of Jesus,  and enter His rest now and forever. It is our choice!

“Here is the patience of the saints; here [are] those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed [are] the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”” (Revelation 14:12-13 NKJV)

 Reaping the Earth’s Harvest

Revelation 14:14-16 describes a great harvest of souls for the kingdom of God from the ministry of the angels.

Reaping the Grapes of Wrath

Revelation 14:17-18  is a preview of the bloodbath that will result from the Battle of Armageddon.

“And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth and threw [it] into the great winepress of the wrath of God.” (Revelation 14:18-19 NKJV)

The “clusters of the vine” are the clusters of remaining people on earth.  The winepress is the final battle of Armageddon.

“And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.” (Revelation 14:20 NKJV)

Blood is shed and spread from the battle of Armageddon for 1600 furlongs or 200 miles Revelation  19 details this battle in more detail.

I enCOURAGE you to focus on your relationship with Jesus.  Be strong in the Lord.  Patiently endure.  Keep His commands.  Keep the faith.  We know who wins and reigns, Jesus!
