“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus…” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
“I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works…15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was being formed in secret, And intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth.” (Psalms 139:14-15 AMP)
As a Christian, I am positive you have heard Ephesians 2:10 and Psalm 139:14-15 before. You are God’s masterpiece, intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors]. Like me, you probably need to be reminded of that fact.
Recently, a dear sister, reminded me. She sent me the most beautiful star ornament to remind me that “every time the Lord looks upon us, He sees his artwork that He created.”
“So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27). And, “God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was VERY GOOD” (Genesis 1:31). “Good” is the Hebrew word tob, meaning, fair, beautiful, pleasant, distinguished, excellent, valuable, rich in estimation, giving pleasure and happiness. Sounds like the definition of masterpiece to me.
In the art world a master is described as someone who is recognized for their skill and mastery, who is recognized as an expert, who has created work that is considered to be of the highest quality, who has created something new or different and who has perfected their craft and creates something from that state of perfection! God is our Master and we ARE his masterpieces, everyone ever created!
A masterpiece is not something you can describe with words, but you feel. It warms your heart and your soul. You just know when you see it that you have seen the mark of the master. I saw God’s handiwork in my boys! They were the most beautiful works of art that I had ever seen! However, the Master only gets better with time. I stand in awe of Him when I see His perfect work in my grand-babies, often brings me to tears.
Tammie Lowe, my sister, her gift reminded me of how God sees us and how very valuable we are to Him! We wrongly view our imperfections, the scars left by sin and wrong choices as who we are. BUT GOD…He sees us as His masterpiece and we should, too!
The most expensive painting ever sold is Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci, which sold for $450.3 million in 2017. If it went to auction today, its valuation is $559.7 million. Hello! That is over a half a billion dollars for one painting!
You ARE worth more than that to God! You ARE worth more than that to God! You ARE worth more than that to God!
He paid a higher price for you. He paid with blood, the priceless blood, of His only son, Jesus!
I enCOURAGE you to embrace your worth. You are important to our Creator and Master. He embroidered you with many colors into the most beautiful work of art. You, I, and the rest of creation are priceless in His eyes! Be heart-fixed on your worth in Him!
